What Is Sea Wave Granite?
Sea Wave granite is a natural igneous granite named for its pattern: a grey base crossed by flowing, wave-like lines of darker and lighter mineral that resemble ripples moving across water. It is a dense, hard, low-absorption granite, which makes it equally suited to indoor slabs and heavy exterior use.
Granite forms as magma cools slowly underground, creating tightly interlocking crystals of quartz, feldspar and mica. In Sea Wave, the arrangement of these minerals produces its signature continuous, wavy movement. Because it is granite rather than a softer sedimentary or calcareous stone, it resists scratches, stands up to weather, and performs well in areas exposed to water, salt and freeze-thaw cycles.
The stone is supplied as full slabs and as cut exterior pieces, so it covers everything from a single feature wall to a full landscape package of pavers, copings and steps.

Color, Pattern and Finish

Sea Wave is a grey granite. Its ground runs from light to mid grey, with darker charcoal and near-black veins that sweep across the slab in long, continuous waves. The movement is linear and directional, which designers use to lead the eye across a facade or along a paved run. As a neutral grey, it pairs easily with almost any building palette.
The finish changes both the look and the grip. A polished surface deepens the grey and shows the wave pattern at its richest for interior slabs and feature panels. For outdoor paving and pool areas, a flamed or bush-hammered finish opens the surface for a non-slip texture that stays safe when wet, while a honed finish gives a smooth, matte middle ground.
Natural blocks vary in the strength and direction of the wave, so for large facades or matched paving we reserve material from the same blocks to keep the pattern consistent.
Why It Works Outdoors: Durability and Finish
Sea Wave's main strength is exterior performance. As a dense granite it absorbs very little water, so it tolerates rain, pool chemicals, de-icing salt and freezing conditions without the flaking or cracking that softer stones can suffer. That durability is why it is a common choice for outdoor landscape and facade work rather than being limited to interiors.
- Hard surface resists abrasion from foot traffic, vehicles and furniture on driveways and patios.
- Low absorption helps it survive freeze-thaw cycles and constant water around pools.
- Textured finishes (flamed, bush-hammered) provide slip resistance on wet paving and steps.
- Neutral grey wave suits modern, resort and traditional architecture alike.
These same properties make it a practical stone for commercial and public spaces as well as residential gardens.

Common Applications

Sea Wave granite is used across both hardscape and building elements. Outdoors it is cut into pavers and paving slabs for driveways, patios, courtyards and walkways; pool copings and deckings with bullnosed edges and non-slip faces; step treads and stair risers; cube stones and cobblestones; and exterior wall cladding and facade panels. Indoors it appears as floor and wall tiles, feature walls, and polished slabs for countertops and furniture where a cool grey look is wanted.
Its wave pattern is especially effective on large continuous surfaces — a flamed grey patio, a long pool surround, or a cladded facade — where the repeating movement reads as one coordinated design.
We fabricate to your dimensions: standard or custom paver sizes, radius and bullnosed pool coping, step units with anti-slip nosing, cladding panels with the finish and edge detail you specify, and full slabs for local fabricators.
Sourcing, Quality Control and Projects
Apexstone has worked with granite for over 20 years from our factory in Shuitou, Fujian, one of China's stone manufacturing hubs. We source Sea Wave blocks for consistent grey tone and strong, even wave movement, then cut, finish and inspect everything in-house.
Exterior pieces are produced with the thickness and surface texture the application demands — 3cm (30mm) pavers and steps, flamed or bush-hammered non-slip faces, calibrated backs for even laying. Pavers and copings are tested and packed in crated bundles by size for easy site handling, and we regularly export full containers for landscape contractors, developers and municipal projects.
For large projects we reserve matched blocks so color and veining stay consistent across a whole patio, pool deck or facade, and we provide slab and finished-piece photos along with freight quotations.
