Silica-Free Benchtops
Benchtop options made with no crystalline silica — sintered stone and engineered formulations — for the regulated Australian and New Zealand market.
A silica-free benchtop is a kitchen or vanity countertop made without crystalline quartz — the ingredient that creates respirable silica dust when engineered stone is cut and polished. With engineered stone containing more than a set amount of silica now banned in Australia and coming under review in New Zealand, fabricators and builders need a countertop surface that complies without losing the look.
We supply and fabricate the compliant alternatives. Silica-free engineered slabs are sintered or pressed with non-silica minerals into large-format panels that handle like quartz — cut to size, eased edges, integrated or undermounted sinks, the same modern look — with no crystalline silica in the material. For clients who want natural stone, we also fabricate quartzite, granite and marble; the real question for safe fabrication is always water-fed, dust-controlled cutting, which we run as standard in our own workshop.
We cut to full kitchen layouts — island, run, splashbacks and vanity tops — with polished or honed finishes, and can supply slabs alone for local fabricators or finished benchtops direct.
