Size and Shape

Travertine Classico Roma tiles are produced in standard modular sizes including 300x300mm, 600x600mm, and 600x1200mm, with 1.2cm thickness for walls and light-traffic floors and 2cm for floors requiring additional durability. We also produce French-pattern (Versailles) sets combining multiple tile dimensions for a classic Old-World layout. Edge options include rectified (machine-cut to precise dimensions with a near-seamless 1–2mm grout joint) and tumbled (softly rounded edges with an aged, rustic appearance). Subway formats, herringbone mosaics, and custom-cut borders are available on request.

Value Integration

Our integrated Shuitou factory handles tile production from block to finished carton. After gang-saw cutting slabs to thickness, tiles are cross-cut on automated bridge saws, calibrated to uniform thickness, and either honed on continuous polishing lines or loaded into tumbling barrels with abrasive media for the aged finish. Filling is applied before honing for filled tiles; the color-matched epoxy blends seamlessly into the warm beige surface. In-house production means we control every step — no third-party tile fabricators, no markups — and can adjust fills, edges, and finishes to match project specifications at a competitive price point.

Production Flexibility

We accommodate hospitality, multi-family, and residential project orders. Minimum order quantity is 100m² per size/finish combination. Full-container orders (approximately 500–700m² depending on tile size and packaging) receive preferential pricing and priority production. Tiles are packed in seaworthy wooden crates with foam separators and labeled by lot number to ensure color consistency across the project. We reserve consecutive production runs so that all tiles for a single project come from the same block lot, minimizing tonal variation between crates. Standard lead time is 18–25 days after order confirmation.

Installation and care: travertine tiles should be sealed before and after grouting with a penetrating sealer. Use a flexible, polymer-modified thin-set mortar and unsanded grout for honed/filled surfaces. Tumbled tiles pair well with sanded grout for a more textured joint. Travertine's thermal mass makes it ideal for underfloor heating — the stone radiates warmth evenly and feels comfortable underfoot year-round. Regular maintenance requires only pH-neutral stone cleaner and periodic resealing every 2–3 years depending on traffic.

Frequently Asked Questions

What tile size is best for a living room?
For living rooms, 600x600mm or 600x1200mm large-format tiles create a sense of spaciousness with fewer grout lines. We recommend a honed, filled finish for living areas — it is smooth underfoot, easy to maintain, and shows the warm beige tones to their best advantage. Smaller 300x300mm tiles work well in bathrooms and entryways where a more traditional grid or mosaic layout is desired.
Can travertine tiles be used with underfloor heating?
Yes. Travertine's natural thermal conductivity makes it an excellent choice for underfloor heating systems. The stone distributes heat evenly and retains warmth after the system cycles off. We recommend 1.2cm thickness for underfloor heating installations to minimize thermal resistance. Ensure the subfloor is properly prepared and use a flexible tile adhesive rated for heated floors.
What grout color should I use?
For a seamless, monolithic look, use a grout color matched to the travertine's warm beige base (typically a sand or buff tone). For more contrast and definition, a slightly darker taupe or charcoal grout emphasizes the tile pattern. We recommend unsanded grout for honed/filled tiles to avoid scratching the surface, and sealed grout for wet areas.
