Primavera Marble Slabs

Full-Size Cold Jade Green Stone — From Quarry to Your Project

Golden Full size Primavera green marble slabs from our Chinese blocks, cool jade tone with white and gold veining. In 18mm, 20mm and 30mm, polished or honed and finished to order, batch matched and export packed for bulk buyers.

A marble slab is the purest form in which natural stone exists after quarrying. Unlike cut-to-size tiles or fabricated pieces, a slab preserves the full geological narrative — the complete veining pattern, the color gradients that develop over millions of years, the crystalline structures that make each block unique. Primavera marble slabs, with their deep cold jade green background crossed by white and gold veining, display these characteristics more dramatically than most commercial marbles.

Slabs serve as the raw material for countertops, wall cladding, flooring, and custom furniture. They are also specified directly for feature walls where the full pattern can be displayed without interruption. Understanding slab grading, sizing, and surface options before purchasing ensures the material you receive matches your project requirements.

Before You Buy: Selecting the Right Slabs

Purchasing marble slabs requires more careful evaluation than ordering fabricated products. Once cut, slabs cannot be returned. The selection process should address grade, thickness, finish, and visual consistency — particularly for projects requiring multiple slabs that must match.

Grade Assessment

  • • Commercial grade: Suitable for flooring, standard countertops — minor veining variations acceptable
  • • Premium grade: Consistent color, dramatic veining, minimal fissures — specified for feature walls and bookmatched installations
  • • First choice: Hand-selected blocks with exceptional pattern continuity — reserved for high-visibility applications

Slab Inspection Checklist

  • • Check for hidden fissures along veining lines
  • • Verify color consistency across the full slab surface
  • • Measure diagonal dimensions — tolerance should be within 2mm
  • • Examine edges for micro-cracks from cutting
  • • Request photos of the actual slab, not representative samples

For projects requiring 3 or more slabs — kitchen countertops with island, continuous wall cladding, or flooring across connected rooms — request that slabs be cut from the same block lot. This ensures veining patterns flow consistently from one slab to the next. We provide block lot tracing for all multi-slab orders.

Thickness selection depends on application. Standard countertop slabs are 20mm (requiring substrate support) or 30mm (self-supporting for overhangs up to 300mm). Wall cladding typically uses 18-20mm slabs. Flooring requires minimum 20mm for residential and 30mm for commercial traffic.

Processing and Precision

Primavera marble blocks arrive at our facility in Shuitou and undergo gang-saw cutting into slabs. The process begins with block inspection — each block is scanned for internal fractures using ultrasonic testing before any cuts are made. This prevents wasting material on blocks with hidden structural defects.

After cutting, slabs pass through the automatic polishing line. Primavera marble, being calcite-based with a Mohs hardness of 3-4, responds well to diamond polishing and achieves a consistent 90+ gloss units on the first pass. For honed or leathered finishes, the process switches to bush-hammer or brushing heads that create the desired surface texture without compromising the stone's integrity.

Applications

Primavera slabs are specified across residential and commercial applications. The deep green color and white veining create visual impact in large-format installations where the full pattern is visible. Kitchen countertops and islands benefit from the stone's dramatic appearance — each slab becomes a focal point. Fireplace surrounds use slabs for their heat stability and aesthetic presence in living spaces.

Why Primavera from China

Primavera — known as Cold Jade — is a variety found exclusively in Chinese quarries. Unlike Italian Verde Alpi or Spanish Green Marble, which occur in Mediterranean geological formations, Primavera's mineral composition and color profile are unique to its origin in southern China. The deep green background with contrasting white and gold veining does not have a direct equivalent in European or Middle Eastern marble production.

This exclusivity matters for projects seeking distinctive material that cannot be sourced elsewhere. Architects specifying Primavera know that the same stone will not appear in a competing development across town. The quarry output is controlled, and supply relationships with established processors ensure consistent availability for ongoing projects.

China's stone processing infrastructure in Shuitou — the largest stone trading hub in Asia — means slab processing, quality control, and export logistics are handled within a concentrated industrial ecosystem. This reduces handling damage, shortens lead times, and allows direct factory communication for custom specifications.
