Statuario Venato marble staircase steps and thresholds bring continuous Italian elegance throughout multi-level spaces. Each step becomes a visual moment — the luminous white marble with grey mesh-pattern veining creates a flowing vertical journey that connects floors with architectural grace. We fabricate custom staircase components from genuine Statuario Venato slabs: treads, risers, stringer cladding, landing platforms, and threshold transitions — all CNC-precise, edge-profiled, and factory-finished before shipping. MOQ: 1 complete staircase set (typically 12-16 steps). Pricing: ¥1,500-4,000/m² for treads, ¥800-2,000/m² for risers.
Design Continuity & Spatial Flow
Marble staircases create a sense of architectural continuity that other materials struggle to achieve. When Statuario Venato treads connect to hallway flooring, landing platforms, and threshold transitions — all from the same marble family — the result is a unified spatial experience that flows naturally from room to room and level to level. This continuity is particularly powerful in open-plan residences and boutique hotels where visual connection between spaces enhances the perception of quality and attention to detail.
Design approaches vary by style: Traditional staircases use bullnose treads with carved brackets and ornate iron balustrades; Contemporary designs feature straight-edge treads with glass railings and hidden LED step lighting; Minimalist installations use floating marble treads with concealed steel supports for a dramatic cantilevered effect. For projects combining multiple stone types, Portuguese Grey limestone slabs offer a complementary grey palette that harmonizes with Statuario Venato's white base.
Safety & Anti-Slip Considerations
Staircase marble requires careful attention to slip resistance — a critical safety consideration that must be balanced with aesthetic goals. Polished marble, while beautiful, can be slippery when wet or smooth-soled shoes contact the surface. We offer multiple solutions: (1) Honed finish provides better grip than polished while maintaining marble's visual appeal; (2) Brushed/antiqued finish creates subtle texture that improves slip resistance significantly; (3) Anti-slip strips can be inlaid into tread edges (brass or stone inlay) for commercial applications requiring higher safety ratings; (4) Anti-slip treatment coatings provide invisible grip enhancement without altering appearance.
For commercial projects, we provide slip resistance test data (DIN 51130 R-rating) for each finish option. Most Statuario Venato staircase installations use honed or lightly brushed treads with polished risers — maximizing safety on horizontal surfaces while maintaining maximum visual impact on vertical faces.
Fabrication & Installation Specifications
Standard staircase tread dimensions: 280-320mm depth × 1000-1500mm width × 30mm thickness. Risers: 150-200mm height × same width × 20mm thickness. Landing platforms: custom sizes up to 2000×2000mm in 30mm. Threshold transitions: 150-300mm wide, available with beveled edges for smooth floor-to-stair transitions.
Edge profiles for treads: bullnose (rounded, safest), pencil round (subtle curve), straight polished (contemporary), beveled (transitional). All edges are CNC-profiled and hand-polished at our factory. Treads can be supplied with integrated nosing drip grooves (3mm from edge) to prevent water running down risers. Installation method: treads set on cementitious adhesive with mechanical anchoring to stair structure; risers bonded to vertical faces. We provide numbered installation drawings showing each component's exact position.
