Composite Stone Slabs

Natural marble or granite laminated to an aluminum honeycomb, glass or ceramic backing — the real stone face at a fraction of the weight, with far higher strength.

Composite slabs — also called composite panels or honeycomb panels — bond a thin veneer of genuine natural stone (usually 3–5 mm of marble, granite or limestone) to a lightweight structural backing. The most common backing is aluminum honeycomb, though glass, ceramic tile or a second stone layer are also used. The result keeps the real stone look and texture on the surface while the panel becomes far lighter and stronger than solid slab.

The advantages drive where these are used: a full-size composite panel can be a third of the weight of the same piece in solid stone, so it can be made in much larger formats, handles freight and installation far more easily, and suits weight-sensitive settings such as elevators, yacht and ship interiors, furniture, and upper floors. The honeycomb core also adds stiffness and reduces the risk of breakage in big cladding pieces. Composite panels are widely used for wall cladding and facades, large ceiling and column covers, and as prefabricated countertops for projects where weight matters.

We cut composite slabs to size, finish the stone face polished or honed, and fabricate panels with the edge detailing your design requires.
