Super-Thin Stone Slabs

Natural marble, granite and onyx cut to just a few millimeters thick — the real stone, light enough for walls, furniture and overlays.

Super-thin slabs are natural stone panels sawn down to around 5–10 mm thick, instead of the conventional 18–20 mm slab. Cutting stone this thin is a specialist job, but the payoff is dramatic: a genuine marble, granite or onyx face that is light enough to handle almost like a tile, with a fraction of the freight cost of thick slabs.

Because thin stone on its own is delicate, panels are usually reinforced — bonded to aluminum honeycomb, fiberglass mesh, ceramic or glass — which is the composite panel construction. Used on their own or reinforced, super-thin veneers go into lightweight wall cladding and ceilings, furniture and cabinet fronts, thin bathroom vanities, door and lift interiors, and renovation overlays where there is no room to build up the floor or wall thickness. Thin onyx is also what makes backlit panels possible, since light only passes through stone at a few millimeters.

We saw thin panels from a wide range of marble, granite and onyx blocks, reinforce them to your specification, and cut them to finished panel sizes.
